Madcap inventions are everyday life for Jack, who lives in his uncle's lighthouse with his older sister Tallulah. In trouble at school one day, Jack's punishment is to clean the filthy, evil-smelling boys' toilets on the weekend he intended to spend training his pet falcon, Swoop.
Jack has an idea and asks his uncle, Professor Bob, to invent a cleaning machine. Helped by their portly neighbourly knight, Sir Horatio, Jack implements his plan.
However, Colin the cleaning machine does not turn out to be the labour-saving device he hoped for. Mayhem ensues and Jack is in a race against time to stop it before it destroys the lighthouse or even worse...the people in it.
