Fooling his nasty teacher. Jack's best trick was pegging one of his uncle's 'movement squeakers' to Deadwood's gown. All day long he squeaked each time he moved until he got so mad he threw his shoes in the bin. Jack managed to un-peg the squeaker so Deadwood never found out that it wasn't his shoes.
