PROFILE AND AMBITIONS
I am a highly motivated 44-year-old writer of light-hearted narrative non-fiction, children's novels, feature articles, and comedy radio scripts. I'm also a househusband with two children aged ten and thirteen.
Until May 2006, I worked in the City as a senior manager for HSBC with global responsibilities for 40+ staff and multi-million pound budgets. I gave up my career in investment banking to spend more time with my family and to pursue my writing full time.
I have since signed with a literary agent, the lovely Susan Smith at:

WRITING EXPERIENCE
BBC Three Counties radio - regular 10 minute guest slot called Writers' Block on the Lorna Milton show. Each week I cover a different writing theme to help inspire budding authors.
Verulam Writers' Circle (St Albans) - active member. I also attended their annual 'Get Writing Workshop' in February 2008.
Litopia.com - I contribute work and critiquing support to Redhammer's online writer's forum.
Completed studies - 'Writing Fiction' at the Open University, 'Creative Writing' and 'Creative Writing Plus' at the North Herts College. I also attended a residential week at the wonderfully inspiring and educational Swanwick Writers' Summer School in August, 2008.
FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS
In 1990 I completed a Ph.D. in Cosmic Ray Physics. Don't ask me why!
